When we embarked on our mission to simplify data and reports for small businesses we were uncertain about the outcome.
But, after almost five years of learning, listening, and reporting, we want to ensure that the Sontai brand accurately represents who we are, what we have become, and what we offer to our customers.
So, what is Sontai 3.0?
Initially, at Sontai, we provided consultancy services to companies on how to manage and utilise their data. And whilst we did some report building and designing, but it wasn't our primary objective.
We then moved into the second phase, where we stopped providing consultancy services and developed our first app. Our app automatically connected to various platforms, such as Xero, Shopify, and WooCommerce. We created templates for Consumer Goods companies, enabling them to amalgamate their sales data automatically and begin their data journey.
We've improved our templates, processes, and approach by adding more systems to our integration list, working in new industries like Automotive and Window & Doors, and incorporating customer feedback.
It was time for our brand to reflect our evolution. We began with a rebrand, changing our name from Sontai Data Solutions to simply Sontai (which was what we called ourselves anyway). We updated our web domain, logo, and overall brand appearance.
We kept the essence of Sontai intact while giving it a spring clean to help us define our message and clarify who we are and what we do - We build automated interactive reports for small businesses.
But this is more than just a rebrand.
At Sontai, we believe that our rebranding is not only about us, but also about you, our valued customers. Our primary focus is to provide you with enhanced reports and faster access to valuable insights.
Our recent changes have introduced new capabilities to the Sontai Platform, benefiting all users, whether you're a detail-oriented analyst or someone who just wants to quickly check performance metrics.
Updated user experience
Just as we wanted to update the Sontai brand to reflect who we are, we wanted to make some changes to how the product looks and works.
The updated app has a cleaner and crisper look than before. We have also reworked the layout, providing more space for reports to be comfortably viewed. These changes make it easier to read and analyse your numbers, even on smaller screens.
Overall, our goal was to make the reports easier to understand and more accessible to users.
New admin features
Admin features may not be the most exciting aspect of our system, but they are undoubtedly one of the most practical. There's nothing more frustrating than wanting to modify how the menu displays and not being able to do so.
That's why we've made it as simple as possible to edit, remove, and add categories with just a few clicks. This allows you to customise how your reports appear to all of your users, ensuring that they're tailored to your organization's language and style.
But we didn't stop there. We have also implemented better controls for managing access to reports, which makes it easy to add or remove individuals' access to them. You no longer have to worry about the wrong people viewing confidential reports as you can see their access levels directly inside the app.
More detailed favourites
Previously, saving your favourite reports on our old app was a bit complicated and cumbersome, leading to confusion and questions. So, we have now simplified the process to make it easier for you. Additionally, we have added a new feature that allows you to save your selections along with the report.
This means that when you access your saved report, you will be taken back to the same filters you applied, saving you time and effort. This is especially helpful if you commonly use specific filters.
We have recently launched a new knowledge base, filled with helpful articles and information to assist you in quickly setting up and running your reports, and to get more out of them once you are.
We know that there are most likely a variety of advanced interactions that you may not have been aware of previously, so you can use the knowledge base to take some self-guided learning or do a little troubleshooting (if you need to) without having to wait for our response.
That being said, we are still available if you prefer to talk to a human.

And although change can be challenging, we want to reassure you that behind the scenes, we are still the same Sontai you know and trust.
